Arapawa Goats ~ Makeda, Yael, Gideon, & Juilet

We decided to aquire Arapawa goats because of the breeds 'dairy potential'.  We were pleasently suprised by the length and softness of their coat. Due to the number of Arapawa goats that came over from New Zealand (orginal six) there tends to be very tight breeding.

The Arapawa are on the The American Livestock Breeds Conservancy (ALBC) list as Critical and in need of conservation breeding.

We found a breeder located about 3 hours away from us in New Hampshire. Lori has set us up with a trio to begin our Arapawa adventure. We will be looking into finding other lines in the future.

We will try to breed this winter our newly aquired doe Juliet with Gideon. We will see where Makeda & Yael are early spring.

We will be selling the kid bucks as wethers only until we get another line then we will be able to sell a breeding trio from different lines.

We will be holding onto all the kid does until we have a larger herd.

All of our goats are registeres with Arapawa Goat Breeders USA.

Please still contact us about our Arapaws if you are interested in breeding we may be able to work something out with Lori.

     Yeal and Makeda

Yael (on the left) seems to be growing much longer hair than her sister Makeda. Yael also seems to be training for herd queen.

Makeda is the lighter doe and has a very calm quality about her, she also has a wonderful moon spot on her side.

Jael is properly named, which mean mountain goat or crazy goat girl, she is darker then her sister and much more energetic. She might end up being the the top doe in our herd
