If you are interested in this breed and are not in the State of Maine, the Guinea Hog Website has the names of other breeders all over the US.
This breed is still in need of conservation.
ALBC Conservation Priority List still has the American Guinea Hog listed as

Part of the 1/2 acre pasture for the hogs.
Clyde (potbelly on the left), Lug in backround, Ludo in center and Luna on right.

Picture to the right:
Lug is in front of Luna, he is growing fast and catching up with her. Luna has a slightly longer coat then Ludo (our head boar) but not as long as Lug.

We picked up Lump and Lurch from Sullbar Farm October Sunday 25th, 2009.
We have added two new lines into our herd. We have Lurch our newest boar who is out of Sullbar Solo and Back 40 Sadie. He is one of the red piglets, he still has a slight tint of red on him. The little girl is Lump who is out of the famous VA Sampson (who is now 15 years old) and Beardsley Little Girl. She will will be bred along with Luna early spring of 2010.

We also have Lug who is from Sullbar Ludo and Fall Buffy. We will be breeding him to Luna, which is a close breeding, since Luna's mother is Buffy's sister.
Bloodstone Lug has curly long hair. He is one of the red boys from the litter of Sullbar Ludo and Fall Buffy.

Luna will be breed late winter/early spring with Lug. When we first got her she was wild, she has since then calmed down since then.
We drove on Saturday March 7th 2009 to go and pick up Luna from Sullbar Farm.
The exciting prospect of Luna is that she has red fur. Her face is much like Ludos when her was younger, some what pushed in, but not badly. Ludo has grown out of that structure and she can to.
We will be looking for a longer hog and try to get a slightly longer face. With her color there may be some wonderful surprises from Luna.
